StreetSafe Funding

Over the last 18 months the CDRP has worked in partnership with other agencies to build neighbourhood partnerships and neighbourhood teams that work from neighbourhood bases. We believe that this has contributed to building community confidence and as a consequence has reduced crime and disorder and created a more accurate perception of crime in local areas. Through the StreetSafe task group we aim to promote partnership working in local communities in order to build community confidence, reduce crime and enhance the perceptions of the local area.

The StreetSafe funding chest gives non-professional community groups a helping hand to help their own communities, through community led activities and initiatives, in order to actively tackle neighbourhood problems. By developing a project and applying for StreetSafe funding you will be taking an active part in making our communities a safer and more pleasant place to live, work and visit.

To date Streetsafe has funded community litter picks, hiring of  venues to provide sports diversion for young people, printing of leaflets, removal of shrubbery, computers and IT equipment and various pieces of crime prevention equipment such as securiyt lights etc. An application can be made upto a maximum of £500.
