Put the neighbour back into neighbourhood
Most people care deeply about the neighbourhood and community in which they live, and many play an active role in making their neighbourhood a better place to live.
Unfortunately far too many people tell us that the biggest priority in their area is tackling anti-social behaviour - noisy neighbours, litter, fly-tipping, groups hanging around or graffiti and criminal damage. All these really impact on people's quality of life and weaken communities - we know that people who perceive high levels of anti-social behaviour are significantly more likely to feel that their neighbours don't look out for one another. We want to help you put the neighbour back into neighbourhood.
Barrow and the South Lakes have many active citizens. They are normal people who have decided to say "no more". These people actively assist various agencies to address local problems. If you have any concerns or problems in your neighbourhood, then let us help you.
Please have a look at the active citizens who already carry out amazing work around the South of the county by using the task bar opposite.
If you know of any people who deserve recognition for their community work please take the time to nominate them for the Respect awards and or the community achievement awards.
